In 14 days from now Padma, Joseph and I are hoping to be sipping some gin and tonics on our flight home to Perth. We’re still not confident we’ll be on that flight, but to date we haven’t been bumped again. Australian politicians are proving to be inept at doing anything to get home 30,000+ Aussies scattered around the world. They talk about us and do a few things for the optics, but by and large tens of thousands of Aussies remain stranded overseas.
Padma and I try to maintain our sanity while living in limbo by just getting out and driving somewhere, anywhere.
I’ve been studying the map of the Moselle River and saw quite a tight bend in the river. So on Sunday we set our GPS unit for the bend which is at the village of Bremm. We hiked up some steep terrain through vineyards and stations of the cross and found just the right spot to appreciate the stunning beauty of the Moselle Valley.
Like so many other days this October, it was cloudy and hazy so I couldn’t get the photo I was after, but the roadtrip did help us get through one more day of being in limbo.
